Light Requirements
Areca Palms prefer bright, indirect sunlight. Place your plant near a window where it receives filtered light for several hours a day. Direct sun can scorch the leaves, while low light can slow growth and cause yellowing. East- or north-facing windows are ideal.
Watering Schedule
This plant enjoys slightly moist soil but dislikes waterlogging. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. In summer, this may be twice a week, while in winter watering once a week is usually enough. Always ensure proper drainage to avoid root rot.
Humidity & Temperature
Areca Palms love high humidity. Mist the leaves 2–3 times a week, or place a humidifier nearby. The ideal temperature range is 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep the plant away from cold drafts and heating vents.
Soil & Fertilization
Use a well-draining potting mix, preferably a blend designed for palms. Feed your Areca Palm with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can cause leaf tips to burn.
